I have two paintings in my gallery by Louise Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, an 18th century painter who was a portrait artist for Marie Antoinette. Le Brun painted over 30 portraits of the French queen and her family and came to be closely associated with the royal family. In fact, when the royal family was arrested during the French Revolution, Le Brun had to flee Frence with her daughter and live abroad for many years before she could return to her native country. I’m inspired by strong woman who do great things and overcome prejudice and discrimination. Louise Élisabeth Vigée-Le Brun is one such woman.
